The pressing question is, how does advanced technology and AI help us in our day to day lives? And what will be the long term results of decisions made today. Join us in our dialogue about the key issues revolving around this issue of using technology for the good and how to keep nefarious players off the field!
The world is what we as humanity make it. The good, the bad and the ugly! Whatever we choose to focus on and how we develop it, is in fact the seed of what we are attempting to “grow” within our world. Whether it is how we treat each other, the government we choose, the way we conduct our business, how we live our lives and in fact how we think of our beautiful world all plays a role in our world.
On the flip side, mankind is what the world gives us. The “seeds” of what we “plant” become the “fruit” that we harvest. Much of our environment of technology, relationships, both personal and corporate is the result of what we put into it. We reap what we sow. We get what we give.
Yin and yang can be thought of as complementary and at the same time opposing forces that interact to form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than the assembled parts and the parts are as important for the cohesion of the whole. Symbolically, the yin-yang philosophy says that the universe is composed of competing and complementary forces of dark and light, sun and moon, male and female. This philosophy can easily be applied when we consider the implications of our thoughts and actions, and how they, like a boomerang, seem to always come back to us.
Just as Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used for the good of society, it also has the potential to be used for the harm of society. In fact, improperly used, AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) and ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence) have the potential to cause great harm, even potentially, the destruction of society as we know it.
AI doesn’t “create” anything. It only synthesizes, expands upon and “generates” different outcomes depending upon its intended use and technological abilities based on the guidelines and rules of its code. We are the ones controlling the beginnings of this AI. We are in control of the direction it takes and the eventual outcomes; good or ill, for our world and each soul in it.
AI has incredible power to change our lives in unimaginable ways, both positively and negatively.
So what should be our standard for the development of all forms of AI? If we really want to insure that AGI does not morph into ASI, with its very real potential to destroy humanity as we know it, then we must have a strong moral compass now and in the future.
A strong moral compass that has great respect and honor for all forms of life and a great love for our Creator God is needed!
Without exception, we must have controls in place that secure the future of humanity and our abundance on this planet, if we expect to survive.
The same technology that is advancing at great speed, the development of life-saving health technologies and treatments, and life quality can also be used to destroy life.
The same technology that can be used to safeguard our freedoms, secure our liberties, improve the quality of our food, water and air, has the potential to abolish and eliminate each of these, if used wrongfully and without restrictive controls.
The same technology that has exponential power to advance our learning and educational expertise can easily be directed to provide us with a world full of lies, deceit and falsehoods.
It can make it so hard to determine what is real, that we are left only to our own spiritual discernment to make our choices. That is, even if we are “allowed” these choices by the AI that governs all aspects of our lives.
The same technology that is generating advanced communications abilities can also be used as a weapon to annihilate the human race.
The only logical conclusion we can reach, if we wish to not only survive, but to thrive in this age of AI, is to put it on an unbreakable leash of morality.
